Post-Bacc: Initial Certification in Elementary Education with Optional ESOL/ASD Endorsement

Dalton State College provides a premier education program that is committed to preparing competent, collaborative, reflective and caring teachers who can bring diverse learners to high academic achievement and who contribute significantly to their school environments. The Post-Baccalaureate Initial Certification Teacher Education program in Elementary Education prepares teacher education candidates who have received a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a field other than education, to become certified in teaching children grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. The ESOL endorsement prepares teacher education candidates to teach English-language learners in the grade levels in which the graduate becomes certified. The ASD endorsement prepares teacher education candidates to teach students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. This program is offered as a full time, day time program.  Acceptance in to the Teacher Education Post-Baccalaureate Initial Certification program is required before enrollment in the blocked sequence of professional courses.
